Size Distributions of Atmospheric Aerosol Compositions in Saitama, Japan
نویسندگان
چکیده
A survey of atmospheric aerosols in a suburban area near Tokyo, Japan was conducted using an Andersen sampler. Significant amounts of Na and Cl collected were considered to be derived from sea salt. The difference between the Na/Clratio in the area and that in sea salt indicated a considerable loss of Cl. This is assumed to be caused by the formation of NaNO3, which is one of the main nitrate species present. Most of the sulfate in the sample was found to be (NH4)2SO4 in the form of fine particles, which is different from the sulfate derived from sea salt and soil. The size distributions of K and Mg are also discussed in relation to particular sources.

Comparison of Water-Soluble Organic Components in Size-Segregated Particles between a Roadside and a Suburban Site in Saitama, Japan
To clarify the characteristics of the water-soluble organic components in atmospheric aerosols, size-separated aerosol samples were simultaneously collected at a roadside site (R) and a suburban background site (S) in Saitama, Japan, during spring and summer 2007 and winter 2008. Chemical compositions, including water-soluble organic carbon (WSOC), organic carbon, inorganic ionic components, an...

Objective(s): The present study was conducted to examine whether the standardized uptake value (SUV) may be affected by the spatial position of a lesion in the radial direction on positron emission tomography (PET) images, obtained via two methods based on time-of-flight (TOF) reconstruction and point spread function (PSF). Methods: A cylinder phantom with the sphere (30mm diameter), located in...

متن کاملHow different source regions across the Middle East change aerosol and dust particle characteristics
A major question is whether different source regions across the Middle East account for changes in aerosol and dust particle characteristics, which impact Western Iran. Therefore, over a period of sampling from April 2017 to April 2018, dust particles were collected in Western Iran from different cities including Urmia, Sanandaj, Sare-Pole-Zahab, Dehloran and Abadan. The research aim is to comp...
متن کاملSize distributions of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and elemental carbon. 2. Ambient measurements and effects of atmospheric processes.
A comprehensive data set of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) and elemental carbon (EC) size distributions has been measured in ambient aerosol and in vehicular emissions, during the same time frame, using identical sampling instruments and analysis methods. Ambient PAH and EC size distributions are bimodal with peaks in the 0.05-0.12-pm (mode I) and 0.5-1.0-pm (mode 11) size ranges. Mode I...
